Dear Registrar,
Please accept this letter of support to Rick Oller, a graduate student enrolled in your MAT program. Noosphere Marketing has agreed to sponsor Rick's Capstone Project, the equivalent of a Master's Thesis. The project comprises the design and development of an e-learning portal that will provide a vital service to the academic community and the greater populace concerning all things e-learning. Additionally, the portal will serve to showcase and highlight the e-learning initiatives of Noosphere’s academic clientelle, some of which Noosphere may partner with to help solve their e-learning challenges.
As the primary contact person charged with coordinating this project, I understand that Rick and the instructors at the Graduate School have the following expectations of me and of my organization:
1. To clearly define my organization's needs and our goals for this project;
2. To ensure that this project meets all the criteria for a Capstone as established by the Graduate School, including compliance with the timeline and inclusion of materials and strategies from every course in the student's program of study;
3. To review and offer feedback on the proposal that Rick prepares for this project;
4. To communicate clearly and frequently with Rick as the project progresses;
5. To contact Rick and Caleb if our organization's needs should change during this project;
6. To regard the work that Rick does on this project as an academic project first and foremost, privileging the learning experience over any other considerations that our organization may have;
7. To provide Rick with any resources, materials, or specialized training beyond the usual curriculum that may be necessary to complete this project;
Furthermore, as the sponsor for this project, I have the following expectations of Rick:
That he will deliver:
1. A detailed design for the e-learning portal
2. A prototype of the portal
3. The fully built and populated portal
4. Regular reports on agreed-upon metrics to determine efficacy of the portal,
all within the time-frames Rick has established and committed to.
We are looking forward to sponsoring Rick's Capstone Project. If you have any questions, please contact me.
